We are members of the Kona Coffee Council, the Hawaii Farm Bureau and the Kona Farmer's Alliance. We are also registered in the "Estate" Program of the Kona Coffee Council.

We have our own state-of-the-art Sivitz commercial roaster. This air roaster (very different from the drum roasters found in retail coffee-houses or stores) uses a computer to provide accurate temperature controls and a consistent and exact roast each and every time.

What does "Bwana" mean and who is BwanaBob? "Bwana" is the Swahili word for "master or boss". We're familiar with it because of an old film series in the 1950's called "Jungle Jim".

The landscaping on our plantation is very jungle-like and reminded us of the African jungle in that series; we loved the word "Bwana" and decided to incorporate it into our plantation's name. But Bwana Steve's Plantation didn't sound right; since Steve's first name is Bob, we decided to use it instead…for the record though, he goes by Steve.

On our plantation it's just the two of us…plus one terrific feline named Tiger ,who loves roasted whole coffee beans!

Mahalo!
